From murder mystery thrillers to family-friendly flicks, Robert De Niro’s resume is filled with diverse film roles. Still, his latest project might be my favorite to date.

The actor’s brand-new series, Zero Day, just hit Netflix on February 20, and within a matter of hours, it has already claimed the number two spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched shows. (It’s currently ranked behind American Murder: Gabby Petito but ahead of The Search for Instagram's Worst Con Artist, Love Is Blind, Court of Gold and Sweet Magnolias.)

In Zero Day, De Niro stars as former U.S. President George Mullen. Part of his role includes leading the Zero Day Commission, an investigative group specializing in cyberattacks. He jumps into action when a devastating attack causes nationwide chaos and power outages. The question is: Can he locate the perpetrators before they strike again?

In addition to De Niro, Zero Day features an all-star cast including Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Jesse Plemons (The Power of the Dog), Lizzy Caplan (Fleishman Is in Trouble), Connie Britton (The White Lotus), Joan Allen (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Matthew Modine (Stranger Things).

De Niro discussed his character with Netflix’s Tudum and revealed that he was drawn to President Mullen’s straight-forward approach. “That’s the spine of my character in the show,” he said. “Don’t dodge anything. Don’t play games. Be honest about what’s going on so that the public knows what’s going on.”

You had me at Robert De Niro.
