*Warning: Minor spoilers ahead*

It’s been two months since the first half of You season 4 premiered on Netflix. And now, the streaming service has released part 2 of the popular series.

The second half of You season 4 presents many twists, turns and unexpected moves by Joe (played by Penn Badgley). Although the plot may seem repetitive, you should know the new episodes lead up to a full-circle moment that makes it all worthwhile.

Part 2 of You season 4 picks up right where the first part ends, with Joe learning that his new partner-in-crime, Rhys Montrose (Ed Speleers), is running for Mayor of London. Meanwhile, Joe continues to pursue his relationship with Kate (Charlotte Richie), which includes meeting her powerful father who knows about Joe’s past. Dun dun dunnn.

It doesn’t take long for Joe to become an unreliable narrator, admitting that his version of events isn’t the complete truth. Instead, they’re figments of his imagination that cause him to question what’s real and what’s not. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that Joe’s hallucinations are far more common than he realizes.

The biggest takeaway from part 2 of You season 4 is that Joe’s story is reaching a full-circle moment. So far, Joe has gotten away with everything from homicide to identity theft, and he’s faced minimal consequences for his actions.

The new episodes put an end to this streak by highlighting Joe’s vulnerabilities and how his demons can only stay hidden for so long. He’s even visited by several departed characters, including Love (Victoria Pedretti), who remind him of what he’s done.

Joe is losing control of his web of lies, and he must determine how to rewrite his story so he’s the hero—and not the villain. And once he chooses a side, there’s no going back.

PureWow Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

A lot of things could have gone wrong, especially since the story line is starting to feel redundant. However, part 2 of You season 4 introduces just enough mystery to make O.G. fans keep watching, so they can see how it ends for Joe.
