This Site Sends ‘Cameos’ but with Winter Wonderland Christmas Characters—and It Supports Artists

You've heard of Cameo, the personalized video website where you can send your best friend a customized little video from their favorite celebrity wishing them a happy birthday...or let's be honest, a wonderfully bizarre five-minute diatribe from Joe Gorga of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But just as we're getting into the holiday spirit, we've discovered a lovely twist on the custom video venture: Winter Wondergram

Winter Wondergram offers personalized video holiday cards from celebrities that are a little harder to get in touch with—a roster of quirky holiday characters played by artists from all over the country. Plus, depending on what character you choose, videos can include singing, comedy, tap dancing, hula dancing and even acrobatics!

Who are the characters? There's The First Noel, a drag version of Santa's very funny first wife who, yes, will sing you a Christmas song of your choosing. Or Larry the Lanky Elf, an unusually tall elf living in a tiny elf world. You can even hear from the Grandma That Got Run Over by a Reindeer, alive and healing from her hospital bed. Check out all the Wondergram holiday characters here. (There's lots to choose from.)

But our favorite part of Winter Wondergram is that it supports real artists—aka the actors portraying the characters! Curious how the rest of the money breaks down? Well, 50 percent goes directly to that artist, 35 percent goes to not-for-profit arts organizations including Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Highland Park Players and Big Noise Theatre and the remaining covers operating expenses of the project. If you decide to add a tip to your purchase, 100 percent of it goes to the artist(s) you are buying cards from.

Talk about spreading holiday cheer.

Customize your own digital holiday card to send these holidays and use code PUREWOW at checkout for 15 percent off.
