1. CATCH A MOVIE AT THE MIAMI FILM FESTIVAL

The Miami Film Festival returns in March with dozens of screenings taking place in theaters across the city, including O Cinema Miami Beach, Olympia Theater and Coral Gables Art Cinema. March 6 to 15

2. DANCE TO YOUR FAVORITE DJ AT ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL

Calling all electronic-music lovers: Miami Music Week returns at the end of March, bringing a slew of world-renowned DJs and musicians to the city’s clubs, concert halls and other venues (March 16 to 22). The week of performances also coincides with Ultra Music Festival’s return to downtown Miami (March 20 to 22)

3. CHEERS TO FEMALE BREWERS AT FEMALE BREW FEST

FemAle Brew Fest, which celebrates women in the beer industry, returns this March. Enjoy an afternoon of suds while learning from the best female brewers in the game. (Bonus: A portion of the proceeds benefit Abandoned Pet Rescue, which operates one of the largest no-kill shelters in South Florida.) March 21

4. SEE THE WORLD’S BEST TENNIS PLAYERS GO HEAD-TO-HEAD

Between the Hard Rock Stadium location, the adrenaline-pumping matches, the multifaceted spectator campus and the uber-luxurious add-ons, we have no doubt this year’s Miami Open will be one to remember. March 23 to April 5

5. EXPERIENCE CHER IN CONCERT

Have one epic girls’ night by going to see Cher in concert. Trust that you’ll have every song (delightfully) stuck in your head for the next week. March 24

8. EAT FISH AT THE DEERING SEAFOOD FESTIVAL

Delicious local seafood, celebrity chef demos and live music—it’s all happening at the 16th annual Deering Seafood Festival, which will feature eats from Miami’s best, including Golden Rule Seafood. March 29

9. TOUR MIAMI’S BEST MUSEUMS

If you’ve ever wanted to visit every museum in the city, here’s your chance. Soak up as much culture as possible during Miami Attraction & Museum Months, when you can create your own culture crawl with favorites such as the PAMM and HistoryMiami at discounted rates. April 1 to May 31

10. GET YOUR POETRY ON AT O, MIAMI

Keep your eyes peeled in April: The O, Miami Poetry Festival returns, spreading poetry across Miami-Dade County through various art installations, including poems illustrated on buildings, buses and even in the sky. April 1 to April 30

11. DRINK UNLIMITED CRAFT BEER AT SPRUNG!

Springtime means another round of Miami’s craft beer fest Sprung! You’ll sip on South Florida’s tastiest local brews (more than 300 varieties, to be exact) while munching on snacks from food trucks and listening to live music. April 4

12. ATTEND THE ULTIMATE BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH EVENT 

More than two dozen restaurants (Planta, 52 by Corsair, Rusty Pelican) plus nearly a dozen wine and spirit producers will band together to host Miami’s biggest and booziest brunch party of the year. Yep, you’re gonna want to get tickets to New Times’ Out to Brunch 2020 ASAP. April 4

16. JAM OUT ON THE WATER AT SUNFEST

Permission granted to dust off your festival gear (hello, maxi skirts and flower crowns) to go to Florida’s largest waterfront music and art festival, SunFest. Cage the Elephant, Nelly and Adam Lambert are just a few of the stars lined up to perform. April 30 to May 3 

17. TRY LOCAL BEERS AT BREW AT THE ZOO

BYO koozie for Brew at the Zoo. Drink “around the world” as the city’s best local brewers, along with a handful of international brands, unite for an evening of beers and small bites. May 2

18. CHAT WITH JIM CARREY AT THE ARSHT CENTER

Comedy guru Jim Carrey will stop in Miami to discuss his semiautobiographical book, Memories and Misinformation, reflecting on his life of Hollywood fame—and the struggles that have come with it. May 9

19. HAVE FUN AND DRINK RUM

What rhymes with fun? Rum—well, kinda. Anyway, for plenty of both, check out the Miami Rum Fest, featuring the best varieties from the U.S., Caribbean, and Central and South America, along with seminars, awards and a trade expo. May 15 & 16

20. OGLE AT FLOWERS AT FRUIT & SPICE PARK

Feast your eyes on the prettiest orchids from around the world as the Redland International Orchid Festival takes over Homestead’s Fruit & Spice Park for three days of flower power. May 15 to 17

21. DINE FOR A GREAT CAUSE
