The #8 Movie on Netflix Is an Absurd, Twist-Filled Thriller—and I Fully Agree with Its Rotten Tomatoes Rating

If you've already watched (and enjoyed) Netflix's top movie, Back in Action, then you're also going to love *this* hilarious, action-packed film. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is currently #8 on Netflix and it's definitely a must-watch—and not just because it boasts an all-star cast, including Nicolas CagePedro Pascal and Tiffany Haddish.

The 2022 action-comedy film follows Cage, who plays a satirical version of himself. He's struggling to get major roles and is dealing with a strained relationship with his family. After losing out on yet another part and disappointing his daughter, he accepts a shady deal from his agent. But while attending the birthday party of a billionaire superfan (played by Pascal), things take a wild turn when Cage is recruited by the CIA to take on a mission that may become the most unexpected role of his life.

Netflix describes this film as absurd, irreverent and exciting—and VP of News & Entertainment Philip Mutz agrees. He shares, "This movie is ridiculous in the best way possible. Nicolas Cage playing Nicolas Cage in an action thriller is so much fun to watch. Plus, throw in Pedro Pascal (who can do no wrong in my book) and Tiffany Haddish, who brings her signature humor and charm, and you've got a really great film. Absurd, campy and twist-filled, this film is definitely worth a watch."

While it didn't do so well at the box office (grossing $29 million from its $30 million budget), it has a decent Rotten Tomatoes rating of 87 percent. It's likely to do with the chemistry between the two leading actors, especially Pascal.

"When I first saw the movie, I had no idea who Pascal was (it was before his The Last of Us star turn). But the whole time I kept thinking, who is this guy? He's so funny and so good," says Mutz.

So, if you're looking for a silly flick to watch this week, consider adding this one to your queue.
