It’s been over a year since HBO officially renewed The Righteous Gemstones for season three, and now, fans will be pleased to hear that the third installment returns on June 18.

After that wild season two finale, we can't help but wonder what's in store for the Gemstone family. Keep scrolling for details about The Righteous Gemstones season three.

1. When Does The Righteous Gemstones Season Three Premiere?

The Righteous Gemstones will return for season three on June 18, 2023, with two brand-new episodes. The remaining seven eps will premiere weekly on HBO and Max, with the finale set to air on August 6.

“After a season of literal fire and brimstone, blood, sand and rollerblading, who wouldn't come back for more?” said Amy Gravitt (executive vice president of HBO programming) in a statement. “The Gemstone family makes us laugh like nobody else.”

2. What Is The Righteous Gemstones About?

The dark comedy introduces viewers to the Gemstone family, who are no strangers to deviance, greed and—of course—charitable work. The show highlights their world-famous televangelist traditions, along with the enemies who wish to destroy their empire.

As we saw in the official trailer for season three, the Gemstone children have finally taken over the family business, but they soon realize that running the show is harder than they expected. If this preview is any indication, we can expect plenty more hijinks and comical ridiculousness.

Previously, Cassidy Freeman (who plays Amber) discussed her hopes for season three. “What’s really fun about season two is that we get to see part of Eli’s history,” she told PureWow. “We get to see his past. We get a little glimpse into where he came from, and I think it would be really cool to do that with all of the characters.”

Freeman continued, “I would love to meet Amber’s mom. You know, like this whole idea that she comes from poverty. I think it’d be really interesting to see where she comes from.”

3. Who’s In The Righteous Gemstones?

Several O.G. cast members are returning for The Righteous Gemstones season three, including Danny McBride (Jesse), Adam Devine (Kelvin), Edi Patterson (Judy), John Goodman (Eli), Cassidy Freeman (Amber), Tony Cavalero (Keefe), Tim Baltz (BJ), Skyler Gisondo (Gideon), Greg Alan Williams (Martin), Walton Goggins (Billy), Jennifer Nettles (Aimee-Leigh), Jody Hill (Levi), Valyn Hall, (Tiffany) Kelton DuMont (Pontius) and Gavin Munn (Abraham).

4. Is There an Official Trailer for The Righteous Gemstones Season Three?

After HBO shared a teaser for season three back in May, the production company released the official trailer on May 31.

In the clip, we see that Jesse (McBride) is struggling to handle his newfound power, and the Gemstones are faced with tough competitors.

So, how will it turn out? Well, the trailer doesn't give anything away, but it does tease that season three will include monster trucks, trampolines, snakes and more.

5. Is The Righteous Gemstones Season Four Confirmed?

Unfortunately, HBO has not renewed The Righteous Gemstones for a fourth season yet.

However, the comedy was renewed for season three after only the first four episodes of season two had premiered. So, it's likely that we will find out the fate of the show before season three is done.

We'll be praying for more episodes.
