The day-to-day antics at the Dunder Mifflin office have always left us laughing. We’ll never forget The Office episodes when Kevin (Brian Baumgartner) spilled the pot of chili or when we survived the most uncomfortable dinner party at Michael (Steve Carell) and Jan’s (Melora Hardin) condo. So naturally, it’s no surprise that when special holiday episodes come out, our favorite employees don’t mess around. During The Office's nine-season run, the Halloween episodes always kept us on our toes (thanks to the party planning committee, of course). But guys, did you know that it was in one of these episodes that the legendary Creed almost got written off of the series?
On the podcast Office Ladies, co-hosts Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin) chatted about the episode "Halloween," where Creed Bratton revealed that Greg Daniels was seriously considering letting him go from the show—much like Michael was thinking of firing his character. Bratton recalled, "At the time, they told us, ‘One of you guys [Bratton or Devon Abner] have to go. We’re going to shoot you both and we’re going to see how it works out.’ I remember being a little nervous."
Thankfully, the future acting regional manager didn't get the boot, but became one of the most memorable background characters on the series. Even better, you now can relive all of his best moments on NBC's streaming service, Peacock.
