The New #2 Movie on Netflix Is a Sleep-with-the-Lights-on Horror Flick

We’re experiencing major déjà vu, thanks to this terrifying horror film.

Introducing The Conjuring 2, which is making a comeback on Netflix. Although it originally premiered in 2016, it just recently claimed the number two spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched movies. (It’s currently ranked behind I Care a Lot and ahead of No Escape Room, To All the Boys: Always and Forever and War Dogs.)

The Conjuring 2 takes place in the ’70s and follows two paranormal investigators: Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga). After investigating the Amityville murders in the OG film, they’re assigned to a new case in London for the sequel.

While there, they’re introduced to a seemingly possessed girl named Janet (Madison Wolfe), who started showing signs of paranormal activity after playing with an Ouija board. The Warrens are tasked with confronting the evil presence, even if it puts them in harm’s way.

In addition to Wilson, Farmiga and Wolfe, the movie also stars Frances O’Connor (Peggy), Lauren Esposito (Margaret), Benjamin Haigh (Billy), Patrick McAuley (Johnny), Simon McBurney (Maurice), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Peggy), Simon Delaney (Vic), Franka Potente (Anita) and Bob Adrian (Bill Wilkins).

The Conjuring 2 was directed by James Wan (Saw). He also wrote the screenplay alongside Chad Hayes (The Conjuring), Carey W. Hayes (Whiteout) and David Leslie Johnson (Aquaman).
