‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 May Soon Be on the Horizon (with 3 Major Stars Likely to Return)

As far as the rest of the cast, Deadline reports that the studio is presumably going to contact cast members who are under SAG-AFTRA contracts that have expired. However, it is unclear if Phil Dunster (aka Jamie Tart) has been picked up yet because he is currently working on on two shows: Prime Video’s The Devil’s Hour and Apple’s Surface.

Also, Warner Bros. Television is expected to reach out to the Apple TV+ show’s co-creators/executive producers, such as Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) in addition to Juno Temple (Keeley Jones).

“Getting the cast back paves the way toward a Season 4 greenlight, contingent on budget approval and scheduling as actors whose options have lapsed may have joined other series that have them in first position,” a source told Deadline. 

This latest report comes as a shock for Ted Lasso fans (like myself) because we were under the impression that the award-winning comedy series was officially wrapped. 

Back in June 2021, Sudeikis spoke to Entertainment Weekly and shared that he saw the show ending after three seasons. “The story that I know is the one that I wanted to tell, and so that’s the one we’re telling with the help of numerous people in front of and behind the camera, so it’s by no means me typing every keystroke and saying every word,” the actor explained to the publication. “It’s nowhere near like that. But the story that’s being told—that three-season arc—is one that I see, know, and understood.”
