Susan Mayer Is the Worst Character on ‘Desperate Housewives’ (There, We Said It)

It’s been ten years since Desperate Housewives aired its final episode, and the drama is more prevalent than ever.

PureWow just released a brand-new episode of The Worst YouTube series, which is “a show where we talk about truly terrible people and nobody can tell us anything about it because they’re fictional characters, OK?” In this installment, creator Matthew explained why Susan Mayer (played by Teri Hatcher) from Desperate Housewives is “the most neurotic of all neurotic women.”

In the clip, Matthew explains his reasoning with specific examples that cover a wide range of subjects, from Susan’s untrustworthy behavior to her romance woes. (Watch the full video above to hear why Susan is the absolute worst character on Desperate Housewives.)

If you recall, Desperate Housewives originally premiered in 2004 on ABC and ran for eight successful seasons before ending in 2012. The story line followed a group of women living on a quaint street called Wisteria Lane. As Matthew pointed out, “There’s a lot of death involved. And a lot of affairs. A lot of affairs.”

In addition to Hatcher, Desperate Housewives also starred Eva Longoria (Gabrielle Solis), Marcia Cross (Bree Van de Kamp), Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo), Nicollette Sheridan (Edie Britt), Jesse Metcalfe (John Rowland), Ricardo Antonio Chavira (Carlos Solis), James Denton (Mike Delfino), Dana Delany (Katherine Mayfair) and Doug Savant (Tom Scavo).

All we have to say is…#JusticeForMike.
