If you loved HBO’s The White Lotus, then we highly recommend you make a reservation for this all-new Netflix show: Summer Heat.
The streaming service just dropped the first official trailer for the Brazilian series, which follows a group of employees who work at a beachside resort. Although the show doesn’t seem quite as mysterious as The White Lotus, it looks equally as binge-worthy.
In the trailer, the employees arrive at the resort for what’s supposed to be an exciting summer. Together, they establish friendships and explore their newfound freedom.
Of course, it’s not all fun and games. The clip teases a dramatic encounter with one of the employee’s moms, who is publicly arrested at the resort. “You’re under arrest for money laundering and bribery,” the cop says. To which she responds, “Take care of my daughter, Vilma.”
As romances emerge and sexual tension arises, the employees struggle to maintain a work-life balance. “There’s a hurricane turning my life upside down,” someone says. “At least I had calm before.”
Cast members include Giovanna Lancellotti, Giovanna Rispoli, Cynthia Senek, Gabz, Jorge López and Leonardo Bittencourt.
Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “A group of young adults working at a paradisiac resort live an unforgettable summer as they discover love, true friendships and devastating secrets.”
Summer Heat will hit Netflix on January 21. (That’s only two weeks away, people.)
