'Sullivan's Crossing' Season 2: What We Know About the Cast, Plot & More

Based on the book series by Robyn Carr (who's also the author of Virgin River), the family drama revolves around Maggie, a neurosurgeon who leaves Boston and moves to her childhood home of Sullivan's Crossing to escape her messy life. But in her attempt to get a fresh start, Maggie confronts painful memories while dealing with a new romance that further complicates her life.

Sullivan’s Crossing, which aired on Canada’s CTV in March 2023, got renewed for season two on June 8—a few months before the show's premiere on The CW in the U.S. (FYI, the release date is in Fall 2023.)

Just moments after the announcement, Patterson shared the news with his Instagram followers, and they didn't hesitate to show their excitement in the comments. One fan said, "Great news! Congrats to everyone for making such a wonderful show. Can't wait for season 2!"

Plot details haven't been revealed yet, but we're guessing that season two picks up right where season one ends.

In case you need a refresher, Maggie discovers that she's pregnant and Sully collapses after having a disturbing flashback. Meanwhile, Lola stirs up drama between Maggie and Cal by keeping the letter he wrote for her. And now, Maggie is convinced that Cal abandoned her.

Although the plot is still unknown, Brad Schwartz (President of Entertainment at The CW) said in a statement that fans can expect another "emotionally captivating" season. He said, “We can’t wait to bring Sullivan’s Crossing to our viewers this fall, and we are so confident that audiences are going to fall in love with it that we have committed early to a second season. As partners for season two, we cannot wait to work alongside this talented cast and excellent creative team to deliver another emotionally captivating season. Audiences can give their hearts to this show knowing that it is coming back for much, much more.”

CTV and The CW have yet to confirm the cast for season two, but we expect to see Morgan Kohan, Scott Patterson and Chad Michael Murray reprise their lead roles.

It's also very likely that most of the cast from season one will return, including Tom Jackson, Andrea Menard, Lindura, Lynda Boyd, Amalia Williamson, Reid Price, Allan Hawco and Peter Outerbridge.

Production updates haven't been announced, but it's possible that it's currently on pause due to the current writer's strike (depending on Canada's involvement). When the strike ends, it's likely that fans will get an update from CTV and The CW.

It may be a while before we get a premiere date for Sullivan's Crossing season two, since it's still in the very early stages. After combing through the cast's social feeds, it looks like filming hasn't officially begun. But as soon as we hear something new, you'll be the first to know.
