Multiple Anne Hathaway rom-coms are getting the sequel treatment, including The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada. When it comes to the latter, Stanley Tucci is totally on board.
Stanley Tucci Wants to Return for ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel: ‘I Would Be So Happy’

The 64-year-old actor recently revealed that he would love to reprise his role as Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada sequel. “I know they’re working on it,” Tucci told Variety.
He continued, “If it happens, I would be so happy, but I cannot give you any information. Otherwise, I’ll go to the actor’s prison or something.”
The actor also revealed that filming the first movie “was one of the best experiences ever.”

Tucci previously teased the idea of returning for a Devil Wears Prada sequel. "I think we would have one of the best times ever,” he told People. "I don't really know. I haven't [heard] about the plot or anything. I really haven't.”
Unfortunately, there’s no official release date for a sequel and official reports still place the film in development. (The Production List website says filming began in November 2024, but that defies credibility).
According to Variety, “The storyline reportedly follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”
The sequel will likely be based on Lauren Weisburger’s book series, which inspired the original movie. The second book, While Revenge Wears Prada, debuted in 2013, while the third, When Life Gives You Lululemons, was released in 2018.
