Looks like a member of The Treblemakers will be trading in his microphone for hospital scrubs.

That’s right, Pitch Perfect alum Skylar Astin will be joining the latest season of Grey’s Anatomy in a recurring role.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor will portray Todd Eames, who is described as a handsome man with a “gentle soul.” The character description also states that he has a Ph.D. in environmental science and loves organizing a spreadsheet.

So, what brings Todd to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital? Well, it seems that he’s visiting his pregnant sister, who happens to be a patient at the facility. Astin is set to make his first appearance in the episode titled “Put the Squeeze on Me,” which is set to air on March 24.

Although Grey’s Anatomy fans are excited to see a new addition to the cast, there are some who are still grappling with a fan favorite’s sudden departure. Last week, sources confirmed that Richard Flood (AKA Cormac Hayes) will be leaving the show after nearly three seasons.

The 39-year-old actor made his first appearance in season 16. As a potential love interest for Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), the two had a brief romance. When Meredith contracted COVID and was confined to a hospital bed, their relationship was put on hold (and was never rekindled).

Yesterday, Flood took to Instagram to give a final farewell to the medical drama. While sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from the set, he wrote, “Set up before my last shot! Thanks to everybody involved over the last 3 years but especially to all the fans whose response to Hayes exit over the last 2 weeks has been overwhelming! Much appreciated [four leaf clover emojis] RF.”

Can’t wait to see you walking the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, Skylar!
