Yellowjackets season 2 is turning into quite the star-studded affair.
Showtime just announced that Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) is joining the cast as adult Lottie. Since the series features a time-jump, Courtney Eaton will continue playing the teenage version of the character.
You probably recognize Kessell from Obi-Wan Kenobi, where she plays Breha Organa. She’s also starred in several other TV shows, including Of Kings and Prophets, The Crossing and Reckoning.
The news comes just a few days after Showtime announced that Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) is also joining the cast as adult Van. (FYI, the teenage version is portrayed by Liv Hewson.)
Kessell and Ambrose will star alongside the rest of the adult cast, including Melanie Lynskey (Shauna), Christina Ricci (Misty), Juliette Lewis (Natalie) and Tawny Cypress (Taissa).
Yellowjackets tells the story of a high school soccer team who survive a plane crash and must fight to survive in the Ontario wilderness. Although the show chronicles the accident and the 19 months that followed before getting rescued, it also features a time-jump to show how it affected them as adults. Not only does it star a brilliant ensemble cast, but it also seamlessly blends drama with murder mystery and psychological horror.
Showtime hasn’t confirmed when Yellowjackets season 2 will be released. However, production on the new episodes is slated to begin later this month, so it’s only a matter of time.
