Ghostface Scream CAT2
Paramount Pictures

“What’s your favorite scary movie?” It’s an iconic phrase that every fan of the Scream franchise has committed to memory.

Set in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, the first installment of Wes Craven’s horror franchise premiered in 1996. It follows a young teenager named Sidney Prescott (played by Neve Campbell), who is haunted by the brutal murder of her mother. A year after her death, Sidney and her friends become the targets of the Ghostface killer, who calls his victims on the phone and torments them with scary movie trivia.

The gory yet comical slasher film went on to become a commercial success, grossing approximately $173 million worldwide during the month of its release. Scream 2 came out a year later, and Scream 3 followed in 2000. In total, the Scream franchise has spawned a total of six sequels, with a seventh installment currently in the works. Oh, and did we mention the slasher film series also inspired the Scream television series, which aired on MTV in 2015?

In the spirit of the spooky season, we have compiled a list of all the Scream movies—just in case you were looking to have a horror movie night at home (with the best candy!). Keep reading to learn where you can watch every Scream movie in order.
