This Sci-Fi Flick Starring Ryan Gosling Is Currently #1 on Netflix & It Looks Really Intense

If you’re aimlessly scrolling through Netflix and wondering, “What’s a good movie to watch?,” we just found an action-packed, sci-fi film that critics really seem to love.

Ryan Gosling’s Blade Runner 2049 currently sits at the number one spot on the Netflix top ten movies list. The 2017 film is a sequel to the original 1982 movie Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford.

In the sequel, Gosling plays Officer K, who is a new blade runner that works for the Los Angeles Police Department. He soon discovers a buried secret that could destroy their society (or what’s left of it). The officer embarks on a journey to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former blade runner who has been missing for thirty years.

The movie performed well amongst critics, earning an 88 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and even an 81 percent on Metacritic. For instance, critics praised the film for its outstanding cinematography, cast performances and its stunning visual effects.

Although it received positive reviews from movie spectators, it failed to cross the $100 million mark in the U.S box office, despite having a production and marketing budget of $300 million. However, it still received several accolades. At the 90th Academy Awards, Blade Runner 2049 took home the award for Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects.

Alongside Gosling and Ford, the movie also stars Ana de Armas (Joi), Mackenzie Davis (Mariette), Jared Leto (Niander Wallace), Dave Bautista (Sapper Morton) and Lennie James (Mister Cotton).

We're definitely watching this over the weekend.
