This Thriller Just Hit #5 on Netflix’s Most-Watched Movie List—and It Looks Intense

Are you in the market for new streaming content on Netflix? Look no further than Rust Creek, which is gaining popularity for all the right reasons.

Although the movie originally premiered back in 2018, it recently became available to watch on the streaming service. After a few short weeks, Rust Creek has already claimed the number five spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched movies. (It’s currently ranked behind Peppermint, Marauders, The Grinch and The Christmas Chronicles 2.)

So, what’s all the hype? Rust Creek tells the story of Sawyer (Hermione Corfield), an overly ambitious college student who’s ready to take on the real world (or so she thinks).

While on her way to a job interview, Sawyer takes a wrong turn and finds herself stranded in the middle of a forest. To top it off, the cold weather isn’t on her side. Can she battle the elements as she fights for her own survival? Or will she fall victim to the night’s lurking creatures? *Adds to streaming queue*

In addition to Corfield, Rust Creek also stars Jay Paulson (Lowell), Sean O’Bryan (O’Doyle), Micah Hauptman (Hollister), Daniel R. Hill (Buck), Jeremy Glazer (Katz), John Marshall Jones (Slattery), Laura Guzman (Charlotte) and Jake Kidwell (Josh).

The movie was directed by Jen McGowan (Touch), while Julie Lipson (The River) and Stu Pollard (Keep Your Distance) wrote the screenplay. Jamie Buckner (War of the Worlds), Alexandra Jensen (Steal My Girl) and Peter Maestrey (Where We Begin) served as executive producers.

As if we needed another reason to schedule a hot date with Netflix.
