Netflix has been killing the rom-com game as of late. First, there was Kristen Bell and Adam Brody's binge-worthy series. Then there was Scott Foley’s borderline cheesy film. And now, the streaming service just released a brand-new show, Running Point, that not only stars Kate Hudson, but it’s also created by Mindy Kaling.

Running Point just hit Netflix on February 27, and within a matter of days, it’s already claimed the number one spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched shows. (It’s currently ranked ahead of Zero Day, American Murder: Gabby Petito and Love Is Blind.)

In the show, Hudson stars as an executive named Isla, who’s the only daughter in a family of all boys. When one of her brothers unexpectedly steps away from the family business, Isla is appointed president of their empire. The problem? Her new role is president of the Los Angeles Waves, which is one of the most famous basketball franchises.

The ensemble cast includes Scott MacArthur (The Mick), Drew Tarver (The Other Two), Max Greenfield (New Girl), Brenda Song (The Last Showgirl), Chet Hanks (Your Honor) and Toby Sandeman (The Royals).

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Hudson revealed that she wanted her character to challenge gender roles in a male-dominated industry.

“I’ve been eager to dive into something comedic with a team I admire, and this role offered a fresh challenge and was hilarious and engaging right from the start,” she said. “The chance to work with people I respect and to bring a unique female perspective to a male-driven world was incredibly appealing.”

BRB, adding Running Point to my streaming queue.
