Though it's been almost 30 years since Princess Diana passed away, her legacy continues to live on—whether it be through the Diana Awards or a homelessness initiative. And now, royal fans can learn more about her final days in an upcoming tell-all docuseries.

According to Deadline, director Emma Cooper is working with EverWonder Studio on the three-part series, called Who Killed Diana?. The official network hasn't been confirmed, but the series will explore new details surrounding Princess Diana's death on August 31, 1997. It will also feature never-before-seen interviews with key sources who were connected to the accident.

Cooper said in a statement, “Exploring legendary women through investigative journalistic documentaries is a passion of mine. Just as we did with The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe, we’ve taken a story the world thought it knew and uncovered hidden truths."

She continued, "I am committed to approaching this beloved and iconic woman’s story with fresh perspectives, new voices, and previously untold information. I couldn’t have asked for better partners than Ian, Jon, and the entire Everworder team, who have become true collaborators.”

This will be the first project in a larger franchise between EverWonder and Empress, which will shed new light on the shocking deaths of famous figures. Jon Adler, Head of Talent & Content Development at EverWonder, told Deadline, “Emma and Empress Films set a high bar for covering perplexing events through unprecedented access and premium storytelling. We both believe approach and access are everything. This new franchise will not merely revisit deaths of famous figures, it will actively drive the story forward with new voices and fresh insight into compelling and complex details.”

It's worth noting that Cooper produced the six-part CNN docuseries, Diana, which shines the spotlight on the princess's life and impact, rather than her sudden death. According to the outlet, it "re-examines the life of an icon through the lens of modernity: reframing her story to discover the real woman behind the 'People’s Princess.'"

Cooper also told Town & Country in a 2021 interview, "I have to confess, I'm an absolute super fan of Diana, and making the series didn't make that any less. For me, as a 40-something feminist woman, she represents what it is to be a modern woman—in terms of showing her vulnerabilities, and not allowing them to be seen as weak. She has given the monarchy that legacy, and we see it in her children."

Sounds like this upcoming docuseries is going to be an eye-opening one.
