Kate Middleton reached for it last week—now Princess Beatrice (Prince William’s cousin and Sarah Ferguson’s eldest daughter) is stepping out in this trendy fall color, too. At the Frieze Art Fair in London this week, Bea donned a burgundy-hued (and ankle-length) coat that was adorned with double-breasted gold buttons (similar here from Banana Republic, $500). It was striking and chic, not to mention proof that this luxurious color is a closet must-have.

It’s also not just the coat that made Beatrice’s look such a stand-out. The mum-to-be (who recently announced she’s due with her second early in the new year) paired it elegantly with a black midi-length dress and Mary Jane flats. The coat of course was the showstopper, but it’s hard not to love the ease and simplicity of the ensemble—it’s a look that would be a cinch to replicate at home (and likely with pieces you already own, plus the addition of such an on-trend coat).

After all, burgundy is one of fall’s number one trends. The wine-colored hue comes with a “quiet luxury” vibe, but it also happens to be flattering on every skin tone. Even better, it’s a colorful neutral that comes with longevity, i.e. it’s a style you’ll be able to pull off for years to come. So, how do you match Beatrice’s style? We pulled some similar coat options below.

A fuller length and so, so luxe.

As for the occasion, the VIP art preview—held in Regents Park—meant that Beatrice got to rub elbows with everyone from actor Benedict Cumberbatch to tennis star Emma Raducanu.

Sure, all eyes were mostly on the art, but on-trend outerwear is equally eye-catching. If you need us, we’ll continue to keep tabs on Bea’s selection of coats.
