This Star-Studded New Series Is Dark, Twist-Filled and About to Be the #1 Show on Netflix (Mark My Words)

So many twists and so many famous faces

I've considered myself a Lisa Kudrow fan since the Friends days. But I became a mega-fan after she wowed us all with her genius portrayal of Valerie Cherish in both seasons of The Comeback. And now (though she's been in plenty since then), she's back with another memorable role and (darkly) funny show: No Good Deed on Netflix.

The brand-new series follows Lydia (Kudrow) and Paul (Ray Romano), a married couple trying to sell their gorgeous home in L.A. Lots of prospective buyers are interested in the home, but none of them suspects what really happened there three years earlier. That's just fine though, because each of the potential buyers has plenty of secrets of their own. (Don't worry, no spoilers here.)

No Good Deed is a star-filled, twist-a-minute dark comedy that is bound to hit number one on Netflix in a matter of days.

Though the first episode takes a hot second to ramp up, once the action and the surprise reveals begin, the pace of the show is fast and fun. Lydia and Paul have a slew of secrets, which come to light over the course of the season. But they're not the only ones.

Kudrow and Romano (who are both great together) are joined in the ensemble cast by Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me), O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid's Tale), Abbi Jacobson (Broad City), Denis Leary (Rescue Me), Poppy Liu (The Afterparty), Teyonah Parris (WandaVision), Matt Rogers (I Love That For You) and Luke Wilson (Old School). And each of the supporting characters delivers plenty of twists of their own. But fortunately, No Good Deed saves the biggest cliffhangers for the ends of each episode, so it's impossible not to hit play on the next one.

As I said, Kudrow and Romano truly deliver as the home-owning couple with a dark past (and potentially dark future), even bringing the laughs in the most uncomfortable of situations. Other standouts include Jacobson, who serves up her awkward charm yet again to great success, Rogers, who plays a very funny real estate agent (and who gets some of the best one liners), and Cardellini, whose role is quite different from ones we're used to seeing from her (again, no spoilers).

A show about selling a house may not sound like much, but believe me, it's a true winner. If White Lotus can milk multiple seasons out of rich people visiting a hotel, I'm excited to see where Kudrow, Romano and the rest of the cast might take us from here.

No Good Deed is now streaming on Netflix.
