Royal fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Meghan Markle's culinary skills, because the release date of her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has officially been postponed.

This weekend, Netflix announced Markle's request to push back the premiere date, due to the current wildfires in Los Angeles. The statement reads, "At the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with the full support of Netflix, the release of the show—a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California—has been moved from its previously announced January premiere date to March 4, due to the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires."

Regarding the show's delayed release, Markle said, “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

The update comes shortly after she and her husband, Prince Harry, were seen volunteering and speaking with victims at the Pasadena Convention Center. While there, the couple met with community members affected by the fires and volunteered to distribute free meals alongside World Central Kitchen (WCK) founder José Andrés, who has previously partnered with the Archewell Foundation.

Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo said of the royal couple, “They want to be as helpful as they can be and they just wanted to be supportive. [They] didn’t come out here for publicity. They came out here to work.”

The duchess was born and raised in Los Angeles, and she currently resides in California in Montecito with her family, which explains why the disaster hit so close to home. In fact, on her new show, With Love, Meghan, there are quite a few references to her home state.

In the upcoming series, the former Suits star invites her guests to "roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond" while sharing a few lifestyle tips and tricks in her Montecito home. The 8-episode show includes appearances by Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, Ramon Velazquez, makeup artist Daniel Martin and more.

While announcing the series on Instagram, she said, "I’ve been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it...Huge thanks to our amazing crew and the Netflix team. Beyond grateful for all the support—and fun!"
