Hellooooo Wisconsin! That ‘90s Show has been renewed for a second season by Netflix.
Today, Netflix announced that the highly successful That ‘70s Show spinoff is getting another season. This news comes only a few weeks after That ‘90s Show premiered on the platform on January 19.
And the best part? Unlike the season one 10-episode lineup, That ‘90s Show season two will return with a whopping 16 episodes, increasing the number from its predecessor.
In this ‘90s reboot, audiences see the return of married couple Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red (Kurtwood Smith), who host their granddaughter Leia Forman (Callie Haverda) for the summer. She meets other teens in the neighborhood and they soon turn the abandoned basement into their new hang-out spot.
Though the narrative centers around a new set of teenagers, longtime fans had an opportunity to see the return of some beloved characters from the original sitcom, including Jackie (Mila Kunis), Michael (Ashton Kutcher), Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) and more.
Gregg Mettler, who is the co-creator and executive producer of the show, released a statement celebrating the exciting news. “All of us at That ‘90s Show were beyond excited by the warm, enthusiastic response to our first season. We can’t wait to return to Point Place for another summer of laughs and surprises. Hello 1996!” he said, according to Deadline.
Fellow co-creator Lindsey Turner added, “We owe the fans, old and new, for taking the trip with us in the first season—and we can’t wait to be there with them in the second season.”
This calls for a That ‘90s Show rewatch over the weekend.
