2. How Do I Watch 'hollywood'?

The series will be exclusively available on Netflix, thanks to Murphy’s multi-year deal with the company. We don’t know how the Hollywood episodes will be formatted—like whether the streaming service will release all the installments at once or stagger them in bunches. 3. What's It About?

Hollywood takes place in Los Angeles in the aftermath of World War II. It follows a group of aspiring actors as they attempt to navigate the changing industry. Each character will face different biases that are often seen in Hollywood, including discrimination based on race, gender and sexuality.

As Bustle reports, the TV show “exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled.”

4. Who's In It?

The series will star several of Murphy’s go-to actors, like Darren Criss (American Crime Story) as Raymond, David Corenswet (The Politician) as Jack, Patti LuPone (Pose) as Avis and Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story) as Ernie.

Other cast members include Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Camille, Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) as Claire, Holland Taylor (To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You) as Ellen Kincaid, Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) as Henry Wilson, Jeremy Pope (The Ranger) as Archie, Jake Picking (Top Gun: Maverick) as Rock Hudson, Joe Mantello (The Normal Heart) as Dick and Maude Apatow (Euphoria) as Henrietta.

5. How Did The Story Originate?

Murphy is known for his out-of-this-world ideas, but the showrunner has Criss to thank for Hollywood, since the Glee star helped him solidify the story line during a casual dinner.

Criss detailed the moment in an Instagram post, writing, “@mrrpmurphy and I had dinner where he shared that he wanted to do a period piece that was young and optimistic. We landed on the idea of a series covering several narratives from 1940s Hollywood. Two days later Netflix bought it. Not only is that a testament to the magic of Ryan Murphy, it’s a reminder of the kind of thing that can only happen in Hollywood…literally.”
