This brand-new trailer for the Mean Girls musical movie is *so* fetch.

Today, Paramount+ released the first official trailer for the brand-new movie, which puts a musical spin on the iconic 2004 film. Mean Girls will tell the same story as the original, but it will feature an entirely new cast (plus dance numbers).

The trailer reintroduces viewers to the story line, which follows a teenager named Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) who attends public school for the first time.

While there, she meets a group of girls called the Plastics—Regina George (Reneé Rapp), Gretchen Weiners (Bebe Wood) and Karen Smith (Avantika Vandanapu)—who show her the ins and outs of girl world.

While there are loads of changes compared to the original movie, the trailer is still chock-full of memorable quotes and one-liners. (“Get in, loser.”) Plus, there are cameos by all our favorite characters, including Mrs. Heron (Jenna Fischer), Janice (Auli'i Cravalho), Damian (Jaquel Spivey), Principal Duvall (Tim Meadows) and Mrs. George (Busy Phillips). Of course, Tina Fey—who helmed both the original movie and the musical version—is reprising her role.

Mean Girls has been making headlines as of late. Just last week, Walmart released an iconic Black Friday commercial inspired by the original movie. It featured Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert returning to North Shore High to promote the brand’s best deals.

The Mean Girls musical movie will premiere on January 12, 2024, on Paramount+.
