Mark Consuelos's Fabulous 'Mrs. Roper' Kaftan and Wig Steal the Show on 'Live'

Looking good, Mark

The only thing I love more than starting my day with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos? When they bring me their show straight from sunny Palm Springs.

The power couple was in peak form this week during shows brought to us from the west coast. No, we didn't get any Mark thirst traps (which are usually gifted to us by Kelly), but we did get something even better: Consuelos dressed as Mrs. Roper (yes, the one from Three's Company).

Per NPR, there has been a giant uptick in Mrs. Roper gatherings around the country as of late. These take the form of parades, costume contests and bar invasions. The whole concept? A bunch of people dress up as Mrs. Roper, AKA they don a kaftan and a curly wig. (Where do I sign up for one of these?!)

Consuelos and Ripa participated in this new tradition during their time in Palm Springs and I must say, Consuelos really stole the show.

Though I was more drawn to Ripa's choice of kaftan, with its bright '70s-inspired motif, Consuelos looked pretty darn fab next to his wife, modeling a tropical floral print number.

And though their time in Palm Springs is coming to an end, Ripa and Consuelos are no strangers to donning wild costumes even in their episodes taped back home in New York.

For example, last month, the co-hosts debuted their 2024 Halloween costumes on the annual Live with Kelly and Mark spooky special, aptly titled “Only Halloween in the Building.” This year’s themes included everything from Deadpool to Inside Out (and a whole lot of Lady Gaga). Of course, they also honored Only Murders in the Building (which inspired the episode’s title), along with other timely movies (like Inside Out 2 and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice).

Now, whoever had the idea to get Mark in a kaftan and wig definitely deserves a Daytime Emmy...
