Who Is Maren Morris’s Husband, Ryan Hurd? Here’s Everything We Know

Maren Morris is an award-winning, chart-topping country pop star, who could end up collecting a few more trophies at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, where she is nominated in three categories, including Best Country Album.

However, while we know of Morris, 32, and her catchy tunes like “The Middle,” we're curious to know more about the man who met her in the middle (of the altar)—her hubby, Ryan Hurd, 36. Keep reading to find out all we know about Maren Morris's husband.

1. Who Is Ryan Hurd?

Ryan Hurd was born on November 2, 1986 in Chicago, Illinois.

Just like his wife, Hurd is a successful singer-songwriter in the world of country music. He has co-written such hits as “Lonely Tonight” for Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe, “Waves” for Luke Bryan and “What If I Never Get Over You” for Lady A. Meanwhile, Hurd records his own music too, having dropped his first studio album, Pelago, in October 2021. He has toured with artists like Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line.

2. How Did Hurd and Morris Meet?

Morris and Hurd's meeting was an instance of studio serendipity. While the pair were working together on the song “Last Turn Home” for Tim McGraw's album, Sundown Heaven Town (2014), they instantly hit it off and became friends.

Then, in 2015, they officially started dating and announced their engagement in July 2017.

3. Are They Married?

They sure are! Hurd and Morris got married on March 24, 2018 at the Cordelle in Nashville, Tennessee. As People notes, this was the exact city where they first met while writing “Last Turn Home” for McGraw.

Hurd commemorated the special day by sharing a series of photos to Instagram. In one caption, he wrote, “She’s a classic. 3•24•18.”

4. Do They Have Any Children?

Hurd and Morris share one child, a son named Hayes Andrew Hurd (2).

The “My Church” singer announced her pregnancy on Instagram in October 2019, where she posted a baby bump photo and said, “The irony is just too rich that after a year of living in the ‘GIRL’ headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out. See you in 2020, little one.” (FYI: “Girl” was a track Morris released in January 2019.)

Hayes was born on March 23, 2020, only a day before the couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary.

5. Have They Ever Collaborated Together?

Morris and Hurd have collaborated so much they could name their second child Duet (just kidding).

On Hurd's debut album, Pelago, the pair recorded the song “Chasing After You” together, which reached the top 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

As far as Morris's music goes, Hurd has co-written a number of songs with her, including tracks like “All My Favorite People,” “Great Ones” and “Circles Around This Town” (which is nominated for two Grammys this year).
