Who Is Maisie Williams’s Boyfriend, Reuben Selby?

Sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between the lives of our favorite TV characters and the actors who portray them—take, for example, Arya Stark and the real life actress who played her, Maisie Williams. 

Yet, while Arya may have had a short-lived romance with bastard-turned-lord Gendry Baratheon in Game of Thrones, Williams has been in a long-term relationship (over a year) in real life. And we think we owe it the slayer of the Night King to find out everything we can about the lucky guy. 

So, who exactly is Maisie Williams’s boyfriend, Reuben Selby? 

Gather round, cause we’re breaking down everything you need to know about Williams’s mystery man.

1. Who Is Maisie Williams's Boyfriend, Reuben Selby??

Selby is co-founder of Contact Agengy, a modeling agency that bills itself as the "platform for the next generation of models." (Think people like Frankie G or Aidarus Ahmed). 

When asked how he got into the world of modeling he told Dazed, "I take pictures myself as well, so I was always doing a similar thing and tried to find interesting subjects. I’ve gone down a bit more of a fashion route, because I’ve worked with designers casting for shows and for magazine editorials and my own editorials too. I’ve assisted a lot of fashion photographers, stylists, and casting directors—I just tried to get as much knowledge of the industry as possible."

The entrepreneur also co-founded a creative agency (we’re not kidding). Cortex Agency, is a new-gen creative agency specially curating multi-disciplinary campaigns & events for brands, according to their website. 

Oh, and did we mention he’s also a fashion designer? More on that later. 

That’s a pretty impressive resume.

2. How Did He Meet Maisie Williams?

While we aren’t exactly sure how the couple met, we do know that they spent over a year working together. 

Selby served as the communications director for Daisie—an app founded by Williams and producer Dom Santry. If you didn’t know, Daisie allows creatives and artists to network and build communities with each other, with an emphasis on nurturing interpersonal and professional collaboration.

So, it’s totally possible that’s where they originally got together, or where their relationship grew. 

3. How Long Have They Been Dating?

Selby and Williams sparked romance rumors over a year ago when they started attending multiple events together. 

One of their first joint appearances was at Paris Fashion Week in January 2019. This summer the couple even hit up Wimbledon together. And we can’t (emphasis on can’t) forget that he was her date to BFF Sophie Turner’s wedding, where not only did they match outfits, but they also matched their hair. 

If Sansa approves, we approve. 

Looks like creativity runs in the Selby fam. 

According to W magazine, his three brothers—Nathaniel, Luke, and Theo—are all highly successful chefs. Yup, 23-year-old Luke even won the 2018 award for National Chef of the Year, beating out 10 other contestants. With three chefs in the family, we imagine Selby dinners are pretty special. 

5. He Did *what* For Her Emmys Dress?!

For the 2019 Emmy Awards, Maisie decided to go the custom route and tasked Selby and JW Anderson to create a custom dress that was all her own. According to Maisie, Reuben made a bunch of sketches for her, taking into consideration all her measurements and style preferences. 

“I’ve always wanted the perfect custom red-carpet dress—something that I feel really confident and comfortable in,” Williams told Elle. “I asked Reuben if he would design something with me in mind: my height, my shape, my likes, and insecurities. He must’ve drawn up around 30 sketches, but we picked our favorite ones and it just so happened that Jonathan preferred our favorite sketch.”
