Netflix Releases Trailer for the Sixth (& Final) Season of ‘Lucifer’

Netflix is preparing to say “ta ta” to Lucifer, which is entering its sixth (and final) season.

The streaming service just released an official trailer for the popular show, which picks up right where we left off. You know, with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) navigating a world sans God.

The show—which is based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg—follows Lucifer (AKA the devil), who has become so dissatisfied with his life in hell that he decides to pick up and move to California. The new season shows Lucifer embarking on his latest endeavor, which includes taking over the role of God.

“It’s time for you to assume your place on Father’s throne,” someone says in the clip. The problem is: Is Lucifer moving too fast?

“What’s the rush? Becoming God is a big job. Maybe he doesn’t want to go in half-cocked,” another person adds. To which Lucifer responds, “I should definitely be full-cocked.”

In addition to Ellis, the series also stars Lauren German (A Walk to Remember), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Gotham), D.B. Woodside (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Scarlett Estevez (Daddy’s Home), Tricia Helfer (Walk All Over Me) and Kevin Alejandro (True Blood).

Lucifer originally premiered back in 2016 on Fox and was later picked up by Netflix for season three. Since then, it has become one of the streaming service’s most successful original series. (It even has an impressive score of 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.)

In the wise words of Netflix, “All bad things must come to an end.” The sixth (and final) season of Lucifer will premiere on September 10.
