If you’re looking for a comedic film with a storyline that isn’t too far-fetched, be sure to tune into this romantic comedy that’s making a comeback on Netflix.
This Charlize Theron & Seth Rogen Rom-Com Is the #1 Movie on Netflix
It originally premiered in 2019
We’re talking about Long Shot, which stars Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen. The 2019 movie was recently added to Netflix’s database, and it’s already claimed the number one spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched movies. (It’s currently ranked ahead of The Devil on Trial, Tammy, The Misfits, Reptile and Spy Kids.)
The story revolves around two very different people. First, Charlotte (Theron) is a politician who’s considered to be quite accomplished. Next, Fred (Rogen) is a talented journalist who thrives on pushing the limits. When the duo cross paths, they soon realize that Charlotte used to babysit Fred when he was a child.
Charlotte is preparing to launch her presidential campaign, and she’s looking for a speechwriter. So, she goes against her team’s wishes and hires Fred to take on the high-pressure role.
In addition to Theron and Rogen, Long Shot features an all-star cast including June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie), O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Andy Serkis (Luther: The Fallen Sun), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) and Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies). The film is directed by Jonathan Levine, who’s the mastermind behind The Night Before, Snatched and Warm Bodies.
Long Shot originally premiered in March 2019 at South by Southwest, where it received positive reviews. Lionsgate scheduled the theatrical release for May 2019, and the film became a cult sensation.
