This 2011 Rom-Com Is the New #2 Movie on Netflix (& It Stars Jennifer Aniston & Adam Sandler)

Just Go with It is creeping up on Don’t Look Up, which has remained the top-rated movie on Netflix for weeks.

Just Go with It originally premiered in 2011, but it recently claimed the number two spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched films. (It’s currently ranked behind Don’t Look Up and ahead of The Longest Yard, Town, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.)

Just Go with It (which is a remake of the ’60s film Cactus Flower) tells the story of a plastic surgeon named Danny Maccabee (Adam Sandler), who’s a total player in the romance department. As in, he pretends to be married, so he can date women with no strings attached. Although he’s maintained his web of lies for years, everything changes when he seemingly meets “the one” (Brooklyn Decker).

Since she refuses to date a married man, Danny must cover his tracks. So, he enlists his assistant (Jennifer Aniston) to pretend to be his high maintenance soon-to-be ex-wife, which only complicates things further.

Other cast members include Nicole Kidman, Nick Swardson, Bailee Madison, Griffin Gluck, Dave Matthews, Rachel Dratch and Minka Kelly. The movie was directed by Dennis Dugan (Happy Gilmore, Grown Ups) and written by Allan Loeb (Rock of Ages) and Timothy Dowling (This Means War).

Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “After spending years pretending to be married, an unattached plastic surgeon meets The One—and enlists his assistant to pose as his soon-to-be ex-wife.”
