The Funny Reason Julia Roberts Wanted to Film ‘Ticket to Paradise’ with George Clooney

Julia Roberts and George Clooney recently made their epic return to the big screen in the new movie Ticket to Paradise. They portray divorced parents who join forces and try to sabotage their daughter’s wedding day. However, what made the Ocean’s Eleven actress partner with her former co-star on this rom-com?

In an exclusive interview with The AU Review, Roberts and Clooney candidly shared what it was like reuniting and working together on the film. When she was asked about what made her say “yes yes and yes” to working with Clooney on Ticket to Paradise, Roberts responded, “Just the chance to be really snarky to George jumped out at me (laughs). Just to see him so pathetically in love with me.”

The two actors have been friends for a long time. (FYI, they worked together on the 2000 film and have been close ever since.) In an earlier interview with People, the Hollywood veterans opened up about their 22-year-long friendship.

“I think we enjoy the same things. We love the work, but we don't make the work our entire life. It makes going to work really fun. It's very easy for us,” Clooney said.

Roberts chimed in and said, “We have a similar approach to life.” She later added, “Our lives expand in these beautiful ways. We are the same goofy nuts we’ve always been.”

And we wouldn’t have it any other way. Ticket to Paradise is available to watch now in theaters.
