Raise your hand if you’re still thinking about Fellow Travelers, the Showtime mini-series about a decades-long romance between two government workers (played by Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer) who meet and fall in love in 1950s Washington D.C., and whose relationship unfolds against the backdrop of key moments in queer history. Ahem, we are, too, which is why we were thrilled to see the show’s leads, Bailey and Bomer, find each other on the red carpet at the 76th Annual Emmy Awards tonight.
‘Fellow Travelers’ Co-Stars Jonathan Bailey & Matt Bomer Reunite on the Emmys Red Carpet
Swoon
Both Bailey and Bomer are nominated for an award this evening—Bailey in the Supporting Actor category and Bomer in the Lead Actor category for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Side by side on the red carpet, the pair looked equally dashing and smart while drawing plenty of cheers from the crowd.
Bailey—who has roles in Wicked and Jurassic World coming up—recently shared with NBC News the significance of a role like the one he took on for Fellow Travelers: “Playing a character who is always searching for truth and has something to fight for that is meaningful and important made me really think, ‘How do you want to leave the world behind?’” (He also revealed he booked the role just six weeks before filming for the series began and following an “electric Zoom chemistry read” with Bomer, which brought one executive to tears.)
Another reason it’s so great to see the pair back together again on the red carpet.
