Before Jennifer Lawrence went on to star in movies like Mother!, Don’t Look Up and her most recent film, No Hard Feelings, the Oscar-winning actress portrayed the role of Katniss Everdeen in the widely loved movie franchise, The Hunger Games

But prior to playing an arrow-wielding revolutionary, the 32-year-old actress once auditioned to play the lead character in another popular film series.

Back in June, Lawrence made a special appearance on The Rewatchables podcast hosted by Bill Simmons. During the episode, the Silver Linings Playbook alum candidly revealed that she originally auditioned for the role of Bella Swan in the Twilight series, which later went to Kristen Stewart

Lawrence revealed she was turned down “immediately” for the role. (Wow, ouch.) However, she’s thankful for not getting the role because her life would have been entirely “different.” She told Simmons, “I got Hunger Games I think, like, a year later.”

The actress went on to star in all four movie installments: The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2

Lawrence also revealed on the podcast that after she got turned down for the role in Twilight, she almost didn’t audition to play Katniss. She said, “I almost didn’t do Hunger Games because Twilight had come out and that fandom had happened.”

The American Hustle star went on to add, “I assumed it was going to be the Twilight level of fame and that was never something I had in mind. I never wanted to be the most famous person on the planet. That’s a very different life than I pictured for me.”
