Netflix’s New #4 Show Is a Sci-Fi Thriller About an Ex-Spy Living as a Single Mom

If you love the tension of espionage stories or the wonder evoked by sci-fi tales, then Netflix's new series, In From the Cold, is probably right down your alley. The thriller debuted on Friday, and it has already jumped into the number-four spot on the streaming site's list of top TV shows.

Starring Margarita Levieva (who you might recognize for her turn as Amanda Clarke on Revenge), the series sees Levieva as Jenny Franklin, a former Russian spy who has tried to bury her past and rebuild her life, living in the U.S. as a single mother. However, when the CIA forces her to investigate a killer who is copying her old identity, Franklin's world is thrown into chaos.

Oh and did we mention that Franklin was also part of a secret experiment that gave her the power to shapeshift? Yep, you read that right. Check out the thrills that unfold in the trailer below.

In the clip, we see Franklin trying to navigate her plunge back into the life of a spy, while also balancing her time with her daughter. “When this is all over, do I get to go back to my real life?” Franklin asks a CIA agent. “I don't know,” he responds.

Along with Levieva, the show stars Cillian O'Sullivan, Lydia Fleming, Charles Brice, Stasya Miloslavskaya, Alyona Khmelnitskaya, Lola Mae Loughran and Amanda Bright.

In From the Cold was created and written by Adam Glass, who has worked as a writer and producer on a number of popular television shows like Supernatural, Criminal Minds and Cold Case.

All 8 episodes of the first season of In From the Cold are available to stream now. We have a feeling this is about to become our next obsession.
