Theo James’s Action Thriller Film Just Hit #1 on Netflix (& the Trailer Is Wild)

First, it was The Tinder Swindler. Then, it was Tyler Perry's A Madea Homecoming. And now, Theo James's intense thriller has made its way to the top of the Netflix charts.

The 2018 Netflix original, called How It Ends, recently claimed the number one spot on the service's top 10 list of most watched movies, surpassing popular titles like Shrek, Shrek 2, The Adam Project and The Blind Side. Judging by this action-packed trailer (and James's rugged good looks, of course), we can already see why.

In How It Ends, James is Will Younger, a young attorney who tries to reunite with his pregnant girlfriend (Kat Graham) in the middle of a mysterious apocalypse. His future father-in-law, played by Forest Whitaker, joins him for the dangerous journey—but it doesn't make things much easier.

In addition to James, Whitaker and Graham, the movie also stars Nicole Ari Parker (Paula Sutherland), Nancy Sorel (Sonographer) and Anett Rumanoczky (Flight Attendant).

While speaking about the film with Entertainment Weekly, Graham revealed that loyalty and sacrifice are key themes. She said, “It just shows what could happen if it were the end of the world, and what means the most to you, and what you’re willing to risk and sacrifice for the one you love.”

She also added that the twist ending will challenge viewers to draw their own conclusions. "I definitely think that it could be open-ended," she explained. "And that’s one of the reasons it makes it so incredible. Even when I saw it, it took me by surprise."

Sounds like we'll be streaming this one on Netflix tonight.
