‘Virgin River’ Fans Will Love the New #6 Show on Netflix

Heartland is rising to the top of Netflix’s top-rated charts, and it’s totally worth the binge-watch.

This week, the popular series has claimed the number six spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched shows. (It’s currently ranked behind Fubar, Fake Profile, All American, S.W.A.T. and The Ultimatum: Queer Love.)

Heartland is like a cross between Virgin River and Yellowstone, following a teenager named Amy (Amber Marshall) who’s dealing with the loss of her mother. She has a knack for rescuing and rehabilitating horses, but her business is put on hold when she realizes that her ranch is in jeopardy.

Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “Spunky teenager Amy is reeling from the sudden death of her mother when she and her grandfather are threatened with the loss of their horse ranch.”

Heartland originally premiered back in 2007 on CBC. The episodes originally aired on the Canadian network before heading to Netflix. In total, there are 15—we repeat, 15—seasons available on the streaming network. (That’s 200+ episodes.)

In addition to Marshall, other cast members include Shaun Johnston (Jack Bartlett), Michelle Morgan (Samantha Louise “Lou” Fleming), Chris Potter (Tim Fleming), Graham Wardle (Ty Borden), Alisha Newton (Georgie Fleming Morris), Kerry James (Caleb Odell), Jessica Steen (Lisa Stillman), Jessica Amlee (Mallory Wells) and Gabriel Hogan (Peter Morris).
