HBO Releases Brand-New ‘Friends’ Reunion Trailer—and It’s Bringing Us All the Nostalgia

Friends: The Reunion is officially happening, and all we have to say is…Oh. My. God!

The streaming service just dropped a full-length trailer for the highly anticipated special, which will feature the entire Friends cast—Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courteney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), Matthew Perry (Chandler) and David Schwimmer (Ross)—returning to Stage 24 on the Warner Bros. Studio lot.

The clip offers a glimpse into what’s to come, including the cast reuniting and playing games on the sets where it all began. At one point, Aniston says what we’re all thinking: “Where’s the tissue box?”

The trailer comes just one week after HBO Max dropped major details about Friends: The Reunion, including a teaser, a premiere date and a star-studded guest list.

The initial video doesn’t give too much away, since it features the backs of the cast. Still, it’s set to an instrumental version of the show’s iconic theme song: “I’ll Be There for You” by The Rembrandts.

The video confirms that Friends: The Reunion will premiere on May 27. (Naturally, a Thursday.) In addition to the series regulars, it will also feature cameos by David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.

Friends: The Reunion will double as a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show, which premiered in 1994 and ran for ten successful seasons. In 2015, Friends became available to stream on Netflix and earned a new generation of fans before transferring to HBO Max in 2020.

The reunion coincides with Booking.com’s all-new opportunity, The Friends Experience, which allows fans to stay the night in Rachel and Monica’s New York City apartment. (Yes, you read that right.)

At this rate, HBO Max might as well develop a Friends spin-off show, since the demand seems extremely high.
