Everything We Know About 'Emily in Paris' Season 5

Emily in Paris centers around a Chicago marketing executive named Emily Cooper, who is tasked with bringing her expertise to the Parisian branch of her firm. Produced by television writer-producer Darren Star (the mastermind behind Sex and the City), Lily Collins stars as the titular character, who quickly goes from having no friends to making her mark on the city.

Seasons two and three focus on Emily working for two different companies without either one’s knowledge, leaving her with the tough decision of whether to stay in Paris. Season four chronicles Emily’s rather sticky situations with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). It also explores other elements of the show, such as Mindy’s (Ashley Park) relationship with Nicolas (Paul Forman) and Julian’s (Samuel Arnold) job search.

Obviously, Collins will reprise her role as the main character. Based on the events of season four, I also expect Lucas Bravo, Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Bruno Gouery, Samuel Arnold and Paul Forman to return in their respective roles, in addition to Eugenio Franceschini.

During an August 2024 interview with Deadline, Collins spoke about Emily’s character arc in season four, saying, “[Emily]’s been in this city, at her job, meeting these people, in these relationships for longer and with that comes a comfortability and a trust and a safe space. So now she can feel all the feelings she can show more emotions on a deeper level and be more vulnerable. And I was just really excited for that, because to me it grounds her more and makes her more relatable.” Expect more cast announcements as the season five premiere date gets closer

As of now, Netflix hasn’t announced an official premiere date for Emily in Paris season five. During a September 2024 interview with Good Morning America, Collins teased what’s to come, saying, “We got to explore Rome, and I’m really hoping for season five now, that we get to explore more of Italy. We had just the best time. The whole cast felt a little bit like Emily did [in] season one, running around the city wide-eyed and just everything was so exciting.”

Based on previous timelines, season five will likely premiere sometime in 2026.

Unfortunately, Emily in Paris season five has not started filming yet. There will likely be some sort of announcement when the cast and crew officially kick off production, so stay tuned.

I expect to see a love triangle involving Emily’s relationships with Lucas and Marcello, as both seem to be in the quest to win her heart back. Season five will also focus on Emily’s new role at Agence Grateau’s Rome office, which should bring forth more adventures (and fashion) in a brand-new city.
