*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Netflix has already confirmed Emily in Paris season four, which means fans (like myself) will get to indulge in plenty more scenic views, fashionable looks and, of course, juicy drama.

The streaming service announced the big news in January 2022, shortly after the premiere of the show's second season. And now, following the shocking reveal from the season three finale, fans are wondering what will happen to the characters in season four. Keep reading for details on the upcoming season, from the cast and plot to the newly announced release date.

1. What Is Emily in Paris Season 4 About?

At the end of season three, Gabriel and Camille’s wedding came to a screeching halt—thanks to Cami’s candid (but honest) remark. Rather than pretending that everything was fine, the bride announced to the congregation that Gabriel was in love with her best friend, Emily Cooper. Meanwhile, a heartbroken Alfie encouraged Emily to commit to him. Then came the shocking twist: Cami is pregnant.

After that major cliffhanger, season four will pick up right where season three left off. As for season spoilers, show creator Darren Star told TV Guide, "Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships; personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other…Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts."

During the Netflix Tudum event, Lily Collins teased a potential vacation for Emily. “Her life takes some unexpected twists this season,” she said. “Don’t be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday.”

2. Who Will Be in the Cast of Emily in Paris Season 4?

Naturally, Lily Collins will reprise her role as the fashionable Emily. The rest of the main cast will likely return, including:

Season four may introduce a few new characters as well, since season three included its fair share of newcomers.

3. Is There a Premiere Date for Emily in Paris Season 4?

In May 2024, Netflix revealed that Emily in Paris season four will be split into two parts. The first half will premiere on August 15, followed by the second half on September 12. To announce the exciting news, the streaming service released a video featuring the cast describing the new season in three words.

4. Is There a Trailer for Emily in Paris Season 4?

Production for season four is still underway, so no, there’s no trailer just yet. However, the cast has already started filming, so fans can probably expect to see a trailer sooner rather than later.

5. When Did Filming Start?

According to Collins's Instagram post, filming for Emily in Paris season four began around January 19.

"Did someone say Saison Quatre?!" she wrote in the caption. "Finally reunited with my @emilyinparis fam back in Paris and it feels so good. Although, I may need to brush up on my selfie skills for Emily’s sake…"

Soon after, Park arrived on set, sharing a post on February 10 of a bedazzled leopard-print jacket with "Mindy" emblazoned in sequins on the back.

"First day back to work," Park captioned it. "Takin it slow, steady, and stylin in Mindy’s shoes again…"

6. Will Emily in Paris Return for Season 5?

Season five hasn’t been confirmed, but Darren Star told Deadline that he’s totally down to continue the story after the fourth season.

He said, “I definitely think the show has a life beyond next season. It’s not necessarily conceived as a final chapter. I think like every other show, it’s a rich ensemble. There’s no end in sight until everybody feels like it’s time to end.”

Star continued, “I don’t think this show is limited by a number of seasons, I think it’s limited by everybody’s enthusiasm and excitement about doing it and telling stories about these characters because I think the world, especially after season three, the universe of the show is expanded because we have such a fantastic ensemble of characters and the show, it’s Emily In Paris, but I think it’s moved beyond just Emily in Paris, which is exciting.”

I’m crossing my fingers for a fifth season!
