Meet 'A Complete Unknown' Star Edward Norton's Wife, Shauna Robertson

Shauna Robertson is a Canadian film producer. She was raised in Markham, Ontario, and she now credits her parents for her success as a producer. She told the Los Angeles Times, "It's good early training to have an incredibly irresponsible family. It forces a young person to take responsibility, to be organized. My mother called me the benevolent dictator because I liked things done in an efficient way."

Robertson has worked closely with Judd Apatow on several comedy movies, including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Superbad, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. And according to Apatow, Robertson pushed him to be a better director.

Per the Los Angeles Times, Apatow said, “She is the rare woman who always wants to take the joke farther than any man wants to go. All nudity in my films is a result of Shauna pushing me and calling me a wimp. If it wasn’t for her I would be making Bratz 2.”

Fun fact: Norton's The People vs. Larry Flynt costar, Woody Harrelson, introduced him to his future wife.

In 2022, during his appearance on the SmartLess podcast, Norton recalled, "We met in London. Woody Harrelson and his wife introduced us. Woody was doing Night of the Iguana on the West End...I was rehearsing a movie in New York, and I was getting a little aggravated with the process and they were like, 'Can you do another day tomorrow?’”

Norton turned down the request to stay for another day and hopped on the next flight to London to visit his pal Harrelson. It was then that the actor got to meet Robertson.

Niether Norton nor Robertson have revealed the details of their engagement or nuptials, but sources (including The Huffington Post) have reported that Norton proposed in 2011, during a getaway in India. The pair then had a private wedding in 2012.

Norton and Robertson share one child. They welcomed their son, Atlas, early 2013, though the news of their newborn wasn't made public until April of that year. The couple tends to keep Atlas out of the spotlight, however, they have been spotted together in New York City on a few occasions.

Before marrying his wife, Norton was romantically linked to Courtney Love and his Everyone Says I Love You co-star Drew Barrymore, although both of these relationships were never publicly confirmed. However, Norton definitely dated fellow actress Salma Hayek from 1999 to 2003. Per Vanity Fair, they were introduced by their chiropractor, and they kept their four-year romance mostly under wraps.
