Not only iThe Devil Wears Prada getting a sequel, but multiple stars are reportedly in talks to reprise their roles—that’s all.

Multiple news outlets (including Entertainment Tonight) have reported that Disney is currently working on a sequel that will serve as a follow-up to the 2006 beloved classic that stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt. Earlier this week, Punk was the first outlet to report that Streep and Blunt are potentially returning for the second film. And according to EW, Hathaway and Stanley Tucci are in talks as well.

According to Punk, Aline Brosh McKenna (who wrote the original script for 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada) is in talks to return for the sequel. In addition, per Variety, the director of the original film, David Frankel, is also in talks to come back for the next installment.

It's important to note cast members have not been confirmed for the new project. But so far, all we know is that the new film will reportedly follow Miranda Priestly as she navigates her career in the “dying magazine business” and asks Blunt’s character for help.

The Devil Wears Prada follows a recent college graduate named Andy (Hathaway), who gets a job as an assistant for one of the biggest names in the fashion world: the editor for Runway magazine, Miranda Priestly (Streep).

News of a sequel may take some fans of the original film by surprise, considering that The Devil Wears Prada star Anne Hathaway shut down rumors of a sequel not too long ago. Back in October 2022, Hathaway recreated one of the outfits her character, Andrea, wears in the 2006 film for New York Fashion Week.

When Entertainment Tonight caught up with the 41-year-old actress and asked if there would ever be a sequel to the iconic film, Hathaway told the publication, “There's not going to be a sequel. It's not gonna happen. It's just like, we can't do it. It's not gonna happen. It exists. There are other films. There will be other films. We can just watch [The Devil Wears Prada] again.”

Let’s just hope Hathaway has changed her tune.
