The story takes place in the year 2524, four centuries after humans started colonizing planets other than Earth. James Ford (Willis) is a retired general who returns to service after aliens attack a group of elite soldiers. Can Ford eliminate the threat without jumpstarting a full-blown interstellar war?
In addition to Willis, Cosmic Sin also stars Frank Grillo (General Eron Ryle), Brandon Thomas Lee (Braxton Ryle), Corey Large (Dash), Perrey Reeves (Dr. Lea Goss), C.J. Perry (Sol Cantos), Lochlyn Munro (Alex Locke), Costas Mandylor (Marcus Bleck), Adelaide Kane (Corporal Fiona Ardene), Eva De Dominici (Juda Saule), Johnny Messner (Coco) and Mark Rhynard (Alliance Soldier).
Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “In the year 2524, a disgraced retired general is called back into combat to help prevent an interstellar war against a hostile alien fleet.”
The rise in popularity might surprise some critics, especially since it hasn’t received the best reviews. For example, Cosmic Sin has a rating of 2.3 out of 10 on Rotten Tomatoes, with someone calling it a “dreadful sci-fi blunder.”
However, it may still be worth a shot simply because it stars Bruce Willis.
