Confession: The final moments of Cobra Kai season six part one have lived rent-free in my mind since July. Particularly that scene where the warring dojos take their places at the Sekai Taikai. I can still vividly recall looking at Tory (Peyton List) in her Cobra Kai gear and thinking, "No way did she just ditch Miyagi-Do. There has to be more to this than meets the eye... What is she really up to?"
In case you need a quick recap of what went down on the Netflix series, part one ends with Tory spiraling after the sudden death of her mom. As a result, she quits Miyagi-Do and returns to her former mentor, John Kreese. Now, perhaps I'm overthinking this, or maybe it's because I really want to see a solid redemption arc for Tory, but I simply refuse to believe that she runs back into the arms of a deranged and psychopathic sensei without having some ulterior motive.
So, here's my theory: Tory is only pretending to side with Cobra Kai. Sure, she'll have the freedom to use her karate skills as an outlet for her unbridled anger (and likely seriously hurt someone in the process), but I suspect her real priority is keeping her enemies closer than her true allies.
