‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6 Part 2 Theory: I'm Confident Tory Is Up to Something Big

Mark my words, Tori will take down Cobra Kai from within

Confession: The final moments of Cobra Kai season six part one have lived rent-free in my mind since July. Particularly that scene where the warring dojos take their places at the Sekai Taikai. I can still vividly recall looking at Tory (Peyton List) in her Cobra Kai gear and thinking, "No way did she just ditch Miyagi-Do. There has to be more to this than meets the eye... What is she really up to?"

In case you need a quick recap of what went down on the Netflix series, part one ends with Tory spiraling after the sudden death of her mom. As a result, she quits Miyagi-Do and returns to her former mentor, John Kreese. Now, perhaps I'm overthinking this, or maybe it's because I really want to see a solid redemption arc for Tory, but I simply refuse to believe that she runs back into the arms of a deranged and psychopathic sensei without having some ulterior motive.

So, here's my theory: Tory is only pretending to side with Cobra Kai. Sure, she'll have the freedom to use her karate skills as an outlet for her unbridled anger (and likely seriously hurt someone in the process), but I suspect her real priority is keeping her enemies closer than her true allies.

What makes me think that she sees her former sensei as an enemy, you ask? Let me take you back to the events of season six part one. If you recall, Kreese confronts Tory in an abandoned parking lot and attempts to win her back. But despite her protests, Kreese looks quite confident as he calls her his champion.

Now, don't get me wrong. I understand that Tory's mother technically passed away due to health complications that have been raised in previous episodes. But guys, what are the odds that she dies on the same day that Tory sees Kreese again? And hadn't her doctors mentioned that her health was improving?? The timing is just too coincidental for me to not ask questions. And how do we know that he didn't play some small role in her death, just so he could mess with Tory's emotions and manipulate her into coming back? I wouldn't put this past him, considering the lengths he has already gone to to get what he wants. (Just look at how he handled Kim Da-Eun's students.)

It's also worth noting that Tory has already seen what Kreese is capable of, and she knows by now that he's corrupt. Sure, he showed some sympathy for her mom when they first crossed paths, but in case you haven't already noticed, the version of Kreese that appears in season six is even more vicious. Whatever compassion or bits of humanity he had left are now gone, thanks to that terrifying showdown with the venomous snake.

Although Tory is going through quite a bit with her loss, I get the feeling she'll still keep a close enough eye on her sensei to notice that something is amiss. How exactly this will happen, I'm not quite sure. Maybe she'll stumble upon a random clue that connects him to her mother or overhear something suspicious. Either way, I highly doubt this little reunion between Kreese and his Queen Cobra will last for very long.
