New #1 Show on Netflix Has Topped Their Most-Watched List All Week

Landing a spot on Netflix’s most-watched list is no easy feat. So, when we realized that one of our current favorite TV shows has remained in the top 10 for weeks—first with season 2 and now with season 3—we were seriously impressed (but not totally surprised).

Called Cobra Kai, the series is currently #1 in the U.S. today, and it has been all week. (It’s ranked alongside Dare Me, Bridgerton, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, The Queen’s Gambit and Cocomelon.) Keep reading for everything we know.

Based on the popular film, The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now-successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi. Now, he must face his previous adversary, down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo. And fortunately, there are currently three seasons streaming (so you have a ton of content to binge).

In addition to Macchio and Zabka, the series also stars Xolo Maridueña (Parenthood), Tanner Buchanan (Designated Survivor), Courtney Henggeler (The Big Bang Theory), Mary Mouser (Son of the Mask), Jacob Bertrand (Ready Player One) and Gianni Decenzo (Eagleheart).

The drama series is also a favorite of PureWow’s Executive Editor, Candace Davison. She weighed in: I have never seen The Karate Kid and had zero interest in it, and then my husband started watching Cobra Kai on Netflix and I got hooked. It's funny, gritty and reminds you that no bad guy is truly bad; just like the good guys aren't always so good.”

We have a feeling this one will remain at the top of the charts for a while longer.
