Another ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Character Is Likely Returning (in Addition to Cristina Yang & George O’Malley)

callie torres greys anatomy return

After the rumors about Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and George O’Malley (T. R. Knight), we’re starting to sound like a broken record. Still, that doesn’t make us any less excited about the potential return of Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) on Grey’s Anatomy.

Fans are starting to believe that the beloved character is the next person to return to season 17 of the popular series. The evidence is based on the Grey’s Anatomy IMDB page, which has recently been updated to list “2020” as Ramirez’s latest appearance.

If you’re not convinced, you should know that it’s not the only piece of evidence. Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff revealed that Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) isn’t the only familiar face who will appear in Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) dreamland.

“You have to tune in and see who comes to the beach,” she told Deadline.

The news might shock some fans, since Dr. Torres left the show back in 2016. Although she wasn’t killed off and, therefore, could have returned at any moment, Ramirez previously revealed that she had no plans to reprise her character…for the time being.

Throughout the past week, rumors have been swirling about Yang, O’Malley and now Torres. While the upcoming episode may feature only one star, we can’t deny that we’re crossing our fingers (and toes!) for a full-blown Seattle Grace reunion.

Grey’s Anatomy returns to ABC on Thursday, December 3, at 9 p.m.
