Can you guess?

Taylor Swift has been dominating the Billboard charts lately, from being crowned the Top Artist of the 21st Century to having one of the Top Albums of the 21st Century. And while she just reentered the Billboard 200 Albums chart at number two for the rerelease of her 2019 album Lover: Live From Paris, another artist has snatched the number one spot. Who can it possible be? Well, Mr. Bad Bunny himself.

The Latin artist has soared to number one on the Billboard 200 Albums chart with his latest album Debí Tirar Más Fotos. It was released on January 5 and it has been a huge success (and it's currently in constant rotation by this writer). He also reached number one on the Billboard Global 200 chart, tying with Ms. Swift for the second spot among soloists.

Billboard reports his sixth album has earned 203,500 album units in the United States—mostly driven by streaming activity. His 264.03 million streams also marks the largest streaming week for any album since GNX by Kendrick Lamar *and* the largest for any Latin music album since his fourth album, Un Verano Sin Ti.

As for Swift, she sits at number two for the live album, with 202,500 album units earned due to the re-released vinyl and digital downloads. According to the entertainment magazine, it's the highest-charting live album in over five years.

While she may be sitting at number two, her streams are still very impressive. Billboard reports she has secured her 15th number one on its Top Album Sales chart, surpassing Jay-Z.

OK, Swifties may want her to be number one in every category, but I'm actually happy for the change. Bad Bunny's latest album is one for the books. He's not only breaking records releasing a Spanish-language album that everyone—regardless of if you know the language or not—loves, he's one of the biggest global superstar right now.

He became Spotify's most streamed artist of the year for three years in a row (2020-2022) before Swift took over in 2024. However, he still remains a prominent Spanish rapper, who became very mainstream in the last couple of years.

Debí Tirar Más Fotos is not only a love letter to Puerto Rico, but it touches on the issues plaguing the island, from corruption to gentrification. With songs like "LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAII," "CAFé CON RON" and LA MuDANZA," Bad Bunny is celebrating his culture, his land and his people. He also has bops that are an ode to old Salsa songs with "NUEVAYoL" and "BAILE INoLVIDABLE."

After Swift and Bad Bunny, the artists who round out the top five are SZA with SOS at number three, Kendrick Lamar with GNX at number four and Lil Baby with WHAM at number five.

It's about time. Congrats BB!
