Day’s goal is to renovate the properties to maximize their full potential. Although she’s no stranger to demolitions, she takes pride in each home’s historic features, all while utilizing modern design elements.
“Every time I find one of these big, old houses in my hometown, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot,” Day said in a statement. “They are true diamonds in the rough with so much potential and bringing them back to life for new families to love is the best job in the world.”
Bargain Mansions will consist of six one-hour episodes, each tackling a different project. The installments will also highlight personal projects, including updates to Day’s home.
Similar to shows like Fixer Upper, it will showcase DIY tips for your own space. While discussing an old construction, Day said, “If you restore [the windows] properly, they can be just as efficient as a brand-new window.”
Guess we’ll be adding Bargain Mansions to next month’s streaming queue.
