Barbie Ferreira is taking on the psychological thriller genre in the upcoming Prime Video movie, House of Spoils.
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported the Euphoria actress will join West Side Story star Ariana DeBose in the new feature film.
According to the streaming service, House of Spoils centers around a young dedicated chef (DeBose) who opens up a new restaurant, which is described as a “farm-to-table affair” in a secluded location.
Ferreira is set to play a “hopeful but sharp-tongued sous chef.” Additional details regarding her character are being kept strictly under wraps. So far, Ferreira and DeBose are the only cast members confirmed for the project.
House of Spoils will be directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, who wrote the script as well. The movie is set to premiere in 240 countries around the world and production is slated to begin this fall.
This latest casting news comes after Ferreira announced her departure from the popular HBO teen drama, Euphoria. The 25-year-old actress confirmed the news with her followers on Instagram. While sharing a fan-art drawing of her character, Kat, she wrote: “After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye.”
She added, “I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez.”
Looking at the plot description, this movie certainly seems like a must-watch for fans of the FX series, The Bear.
